About Us
Our mission is to facilitate healing and justice for victims of sexual and physical abuse, neglect, and exploitation and to engage the community to protect and support children.
What We Do
We provide a compassionate and effective way to bring services to children victimized by abuse. Our public-private collaboration significantly reduces the trauma associated with reporting child abuse. We help coordinate care and investigation from first report to conviction and beyond, while keeping the child at the center of everything the team does.
Who We Serve
Child Abuse has no boundaries. It spans across all social and economic levels, races, religions, and cultures. The Red River Children’s Advocacy Center serves victims of child abuse from Eastern North Dakota, Western Minnesota, Northeastern South Dakota, and four Native American Reservations.

Employee Of The Month
McKinley Solberg
Mental Health Program Assistant
What is your role at RRCAC and how long have you been with RRCAC?
“I have been the Mental Health Program Assistant for the past 3 years.”
What inspired you to work at RRCAC?
“Working with children and families has always been a passion of mine. I have been fascinated by the complexities of family systems; especially in relation to trauma. When the opportunity to work at the RRCAC arose, I saw this as a chance to learn about the complexities of trauma, how early interventions can positively impact healing, and what resources there are to assist families in crisis.”
What do you love most about your job?
“I love having the opportunity to interact with children and caregivers on a daily basis. It is a joy to watch our clients flourish throughout their therapy process. There have been clients that come to their first appointment reserved and scared, and leave their graduation appointment beaming with joy and hopeful for their future. It is an honor to witness the positive impacts of our team so often”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“In my free time, I love spending time with loved ones and especially my sassy dog, Benny. When opportunity arises, I can be pretty adventurous and love to try new foods and activities offered within the community. I can also be a home body and enjoy the healthy competitiveness of a card game with family, but also enjoy relaxing activities such as pottery, embroidery, reading, and Pilates.”
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
“If I had the ability to travel anywhere, I would love to visit Rome. I find the architecture, history, and art fascinating; the food would be a perk as well.”
