About Us

Our mission is to facilitate healing and justice for victims of sexual and physical abuse, neglect, and exploitation and to engage the community to protect and support children.

What We Do

We provide a compassionate and effective way to bring services to children victimized by abuse. Our public-private collaboration significantly reduces the trauma associated with reporting child abuse. We help coordinate care and investigation from first report to conviction and beyond, while keeping the child at the center of everything the team does.

Who We Serve

Child Abuse has no boundaries. It spans across all social and economic levels, races, religions, and cultures. The Red River Children’s Advocacy Center serves victims of child abuse from Eastern North Dakota, Western Minnesota, Northeastern South Dakota, and four Native American Reservations.

Forensic Interviewer

What is your role at RRCAC and how long have you been with RRCAC?
I am a Forensic Interviewer, and I have been with RRCAC for a little over two years. I actually started as a Family Advocate before transitioning into the Forensic Interviewer role about five months ago. Being able to grow within RRCAC and learn different ways to support children and families has been really meaningful to me.
To be honest, I didn’t know what a CAC was when I first applied. I was looking for something different from what I had been doing and wanted work that felt more meaningful and fulfilling. It ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career. It honestly feels like fate that this was the opportunity that found me, and I feel very grateful to be part of RRCAC and the work we do every day.
What I love most is being able to create a safe, comfortable space for children to talk about really difficult experiences. It’s such a privilege to earn their trust and help them feel safe enough to share their stories with someone they’ve just met. Knowing that I can play even a small role in helping children feel heard and supported is incredibly rewarding.
In my free time, I love spending time with my children, cuddling my pets, and hanging out with friends. I’m also a big fan of relaxing on the couch and catching up on my favorite shows.
This is a tough question because I love traveling, but I would probably choose Greece. It looks absolutely beautiful and peaceful, and it has always seemed like one of those places that feels both relaxing and full of history and culture. It’s definitely on my dream travel list!
